The Junior League of McAllen is looking for enthusiastic, motivated ladies to join us for the next Provisional Class!
The Junior League of McAllen (JLM) welcomes women of all races, religions and national origins who exemplify a commitment to voluntarism. Membership is available to women who meet the following two criteria: 23 years old or older AND a resident of McAllen or a community adjacent to McAllen. Informational meetings open to the public are held each year and serve as an opportunity for potential members to meet current members and to learn more about what the JLM does for our community. Prospective Member Information Sessions are held starting in the Spring through the Summer in the JLM office located at 514 E. Dove Ave. in McAllen.
Provisional members complete a training course during their first year of service. This course incorporates the following concepts: volunteer management and leadership, The League structure and policies, community awareness and enlightenment. Provisional members also complete a Provisional Project during their first year. In the past, these projects have benefited organizations such as the Children's Advocacy Center, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and the Make a Wish Foundation.
