THE BOUGAINVILLEA MAGAZINE

Since 1986, the Junior League of McAllen, has been publishing a community newsletter.  Today's version, The Bougainvillea, is a full-color magazine featuring interviews and articles about our volunteer projects and cultural events.  Once yearly, issues are distributed widely throughout the community and at Dias Festivos Marketplace.  CLICK HERE to take advantage of the unique advertising opportunity available through the The Bougainvillea.  Camera ready artwork must be received by August 30th of each year.  Market your business to the 6,500 visitors who will attend our 22nd Dias Festivos Marketplace, 1,000 parents and children who visit our Children's Arts & Literacy Festival, and 500 members of the Junior League of McAllen!

SOUTH TEXAS CUISINE

"South Texas Cuisine", which aired from 1996 to 2004, was a monthly cooking show sponsored by the Junior League of McAllen, Inc.  Chefs walked the audience through the preparation of several recipes found in the Junior League of McAllen published cookbooks: La Piñata & Some Like It Hot.  An interview section of the show also highlighted some of the many volunteer projects and cultural events being conducted by the Junior League of McAllen.  "South Texas Cuisine" aired on the McAllen Cable Network.  The Junior League of McAllen can now be seen periodically on McAllen Cable Network's "The Volunteer Show" which interviews people who are volunteering their time to make McAllen a better place in which to live.
